This project was a study in usability, and more specifically, a study in paper prototyping.  Fellow Parsons Grad students, Chester Dean and Dan Willig, and I worked together on this project.  Our original concept stemmed from both the personal and observed experience of distraction — a concept which led us to develop “blinders” for use while working on a laptop.  We created a series of paper prototypes to test a variety of different configurations and structural frameworks.  During our usability study, we tested 3 of these different prototypes and observed how users reacted to the look and feel of these objects, their ease of use, and whether the objects could in fact help users avoid distraction.
